Tie result resolution by ICAR AIEEA
If two candidates score equal marks in the entrance exam, then the relative merit of the candidates will be determined according to the following criteria:
- Programs for undergraduates
- Mathematics (PCM) marks
- Biology (PCB) marks
- Agriculture (ABC/PCA) marks
- In the event of a tie, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher
- PG programs
- The overall grade point average (OGPA) or percentage of marks obtained during the bachelor program leading to graduation.
- Candidates who are older will be given preference and ranked higher.
Candidates’ reservation category information in the online application form will be used to determine the final merit list for counselling. For AIEEA PG, an overall merit list will be generated for each major subject area.
Normalization of marks by the ICAR and AIEEA
Since the exam was conducted in multiple shifts, the results will be prepared based on the normalization of raw marks. Normalizing marks ensure percentile score is a normalized score for each candidate.
The percentile score will then be used to prepare the candidates’ results. that candidates are not adversely affected by the difficulty level of papers administered in multiple sessions and shifts.
In order to reduce ties and avoid the bunching effect, the percentile score will be calculated up to seven decimal places. There is a difference between a percentile score and a percentage score.
The formula for calculating Percentile score is given as under-
Percentile Score = 100 X (No. of candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’ with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate) ÷ (Total number of candidates who appeared in the ’Session’)
Policy on Revaluation and Rechecking of AIEEA by ICAR
After finalized answer keys are released, the result/merit list/rank card will be published. Results will not be revalued or answer scripts rechecked as candidates are already given the opportunity to evaluate and analyze their own recordings and file objections.
